Big Al’s Rib Rub Recipe

Big Al’s x11 Rib Rub recipe

4 cups dark brown sugar (=one 32oz. pkg.)

½ cup kosher salt

¾ cup chili powder

2 tsp onion powder

2 tsp garlic powder

½ tsp cayenne pepper

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp ground mustard

Mix ingredients well and store in an airtight container. It makes a lot but it basically stores forever!

Apply a thick rub to both sides and let it sit in the fridge overnight, then smoke for about 6 hours at 225 degrees.

The ingredients are pretty standard (but don’t skip any!), but it’s the proportions that make this special.
